How we try to keep this straight

Booking with someone you have never met takes trust. Here is what we actually check, what we do not, and what to do when something is not right.

Who is selling on Wuhkorbor

Anybody can browse, but nobody sells here without going through checks first. Before a vendor can take bookings they submit a business profile and upload three things: a government-issued ID, a selfie, and a business licence. Our team reviews that — it takes up to 5 days — and only an approved vendor can put listings up.

Listings themselves go through moderation as well. A listing sits in review before it goes live, and the vendor can see its status on their dashboard.

What that does and does not mean

Verification tells you the business behind a listing is a real, identified business that we have documents for. It is not an inspection of the property, the vehicle or the tour, and it is not a safety certification. Use your own judgement too — read the listing, read the reviews, and ask the vendor questions before you book.

Reviews you can actually believe

A review on Wuhkorbor can only be written by somebody who booked and completed that exact booking. Reviews open after the service is finished, so nobody can review a place they never went to, and nobody can pay for a good word.

That means a new listing may have no reviews at all. We would rather show you an honest empty space than a page full of stars that mean nothing.

Information you can rely on

The vendor writes their own listing — the description, the amenities, the rooms, the vehicles, the meeting point. What we hold them to is that the terms you are shown before you pay are the terms that apply.

  • The cancellation policy is shown on the listing and locked to your booking at the moment you book, so it cannot be changed under you afterwards.
  • Taxes and the service fee are in the breakdown before you pay. There is no separate Wuhkorbor booking fee added at the end.
  • Prices shown in another currency are marked as an estimate. You are charged in the currency the vendor prices in, and that is what your receipt says.

If what you find on arrival is not what the listing said, that is worth reporting. See below.

Talking to your vendor

Every booking has a message thread attached to it, and that is the place to talk. Keep the conversation there rather than moving it off the platform — if something goes wrong later, the thread is the record, and our team can read it when we look into a dispute.

Be careful of this

Nobody from Wuhkorbor will ever ask you for your Mobile Money PIN or your password. If a vendor asks you to pay outside Wuhkorbor, or to move the conversation somewhere else so they can send you a payment link, stop and report it. Paying outside the platform means no booking record, no cancellation policy and no refund route.

Paying safely

Mobile Money payments are approved by you, on your own phone, through a prompt from your provider. Wuhkorbor never sees or stores your PIN. The amount is worked out and checked on our side before anything is charged — never in your browser — so what you approve is the price the listing and the breakdown showed you.

If a payment says it is still going through, leave it. It updates by itself once your provider confirms. Paying a second time is how people end up paying twice.

Your information

You give us what a booking needs — your name, your email, your phone, and whatever a particular service requires, like a driver's licence number for a car rental or KYC documents if you are a vendor. Your account only reaches your own records, and a vendor only sees what is needed to serve the booking you made with them.

Card payments are not live yet. When they are, the card details will be handled by the payment processor at checkout, not held by us. You can change the details we hold on you in Settings.

Using the platform responsibly

Whether you are booking or selling, the basics are the same:

  • Book under your own name, with details that are true. Vendors check who is arriving.
  • Vendors: describe your place, vehicle or tour as it really is, and keep your availability honest so you are not cancelling on people.
  • Do not use the platform to arrange anything illegal, and do not harass anyone through booking messages.
  • Do not try to move a booking, a payment or a conversation off the platform.

Accounts that break this can be suspended. A suspended account can still browse, but it cannot book.

Reporting a concern

If something looks wrong — a listing that is not what it claims, a vendor asking you to pay outside the platform, messages that make you uncomfortable, or anything that touches somebody's safety — tell us. Open a ticket, set the category to Safety concern, and attach the booking if there is one.

Safety reports are handled within 2 hours. Everything else, we try to answer within 24.

If somebody is in danger

Call the local emergency services first. Then report it to us so we can act on our side.

If your trip goes wrong

Start with the vendor through the booking message thread — most problems are a misunderstanding and get sorted there. If that does not settle it, you can open a dispute on the booking itself, in My Trips, and our team looks at it.

Money for a booking is not released to the vendor the moment you pay — it is held and released after the stay. That window is what gives a real problem room to be looked at before the money is gone.
